Kalimera, ‘private beaches’ are prohibited under Greek law. Beaches in Greece must be accessible to everyone.

Totally agree with you, It is all about money. Cruisers go to Santorini to Experience the island and Greek culture why change it. Royal Caribbean is a United States Company, and if the people want to visit the Caribbean and white sand they go to the Caribbean Islands closer to the USA. It will for sure take business away from the hard working locals, specially since Santorini is a Seasonal island to visit. The way they are advertising it is visit OIA first then Beach and Fira, from where will they be returning to Fira Old port to tender back to their ship? will stay still need to take the Cable car down (I’m sure the cable car association is not happy about this is either NO REVENUE) or the path down or donkeys? Big mistake they are making in allowing the Royal Beach Club.

Als Antwort auf SEAN WEG. Thank you for sharing your opinion with me. That Royal Caribbean is doing business in the Mediterranean Sea, is absolut okay for me. With their own private beach on Santorini, they offer something for guests, who simply want to swim at the beach. They can be taken directly there from the ship. This eases traffic congestion on the island. So, in that respect, I see it as a positive thing.
